Gamer Bling has definitively demonstrated that Dwarven Sweatshoppe is not (as he had feared) out of business. He spoke via email this morning with sweaty dwarf Christian who said, “I am still here, I had to shut down the site due to personnel and operational issues, I am still building though. I hope to have a new web presence up by the first of the year or a little after. Until then I have created a PDF catalog for ordering purposes.”
As a public service, Gamer Bling will endeavor to get a copy of said PDF and post it.
In other news, Gamer Bling’s first round of D&D eBay auctions finished, with an inordinate number of winning bids coming from O Canada, specifically from New Brunswick. What’s up with that? We will see if Gamer Bling’s current slate of eBay offerings (mostly DMGs, PHBs, and Forgotten Realms stuff) likewise takes flight north of the border. You can track the events by clicking here.
I think the large number of Canadian customers is due to Wizards of the Coast canceling a large number of their Canadian distribution contracts; it’s getting harder for retailers in Canada to legally carry D&D products. I know because I’m Canadian and have been trying to open a new gaming store but finding suppliers that will sell to Canadian stores has been insane.
